Suresnes, France – The Philips GoPure 5212 filtration technology removes up to 100 pollutants including allergens, bacteria, viruses and exhaust gases. It is equipped with Philips SelectFilter Plus, an independently certified filter that removes 90% of airborne pollen allergens1. This is great news for drivers suffering from hay fever or concerned with viruses4, and it also addresses general concerns with air pollution causing severe health risks.

Powerful and effective air filtration

The Philips unique SelectFilter Plus filtration technology, quickly and effectively removes particles detected in the car cabin, such as PM2.52. With a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 16 m3 per hour for PM2.5, 50% of a standard sedan or SUV is filtered in under 10 minutes. Not only does it remove harmful particles, but also cigarette smoke and dust so driver and passengers breathe fresh and clean air.

Independently tested by the respected biomedical research organization, Airmid Healthgroup, the Philips unique SelectFilter Plus technology removes up to 90% of airborne pollen allergens. The Airmid Healthgroup tests prove this filtration is achieved in just one single pass of air through our SelectFilter Plus (known as the single pass efficiency test). With these irritating particles removed, anyone suffering from hay fever can now enjoy clean air.

Air quality matters to a huge number of people. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 80% of people living in urban areas that monitor air pollution are exposed to air quality levels that exceed WHO guideline limits3” said Mark Bülow, EMEA Senior Product Manager at Lumileds. “They also mention that 9 out of 10 people breathe air containing high levels of pollutants worldwide” he added.

Eliminate toxic gases, remove bacteria and viruses quickly

Philips unique SelectFilter Plus technology includes a High Efficiency Sorbent Agent (HESA) layer. This decontaminates your vehicle of harmful gaseous chemicals. Through a powerful absorption and oxidation process, it removes harmful gaseous substances at a Clean Air Delivery Rate of 11m3 per hour. So in just a few minutes it cleans the air of chemicals emitted by plastic materials and other odor emitting substances e.g. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), toluene and formaldehyde.

Fine inhalable particles pose the most serious health risk, because the can get deep into the lungs. Philips filter technology also removes ultrafine particles, bacteria or viruses as small as 0.015 μm (15 nm) from the air inside the vehicle. This includes airborne viruses such as influenza A or SARS coronaviruses, hepatitis B and foot and mouth disease (FMD)4

Who wants their family to breathe exhaust gases from heavy traffic? Children sitting in the backseat of vehicles are likely to be exposed to dangerous levels of air pollution that are much higher inside the car than outside. Philips SelectFilter Plus technology treats nitrogen dioxide (NO2) at a CADR of 13 m3 per hour and sulfur dioxide (SO2) at 7.9 m3 per hour, so the driver and their family can breathe with confidence.

Stylish design, simple to install and easy to use

To ensure drivers focus on driving, the Philips GoPure 5212 turns on and off automatically with the car engine ignition. The two-speed fan filtration is adjusted by touching power button depending on your preference.

The filter replacement indicator switches on when the filter is saturated, so you know that it’s time for a new one. After receiving the new filter, it only takes a few seconds to replace it in the device.

With a 4-meter 12V power cable, you can easily install the Philips GoPure 5212 anywhere inside your vehicle. Plug the cable into the cigarette lighter port, and then use the mounting accessories to position the device where you prefer, such as the armrest, headrest or under the seats.

[2] PM stands for particulate matter are microscopic particles of solid or liquid matter suspended in the air. PM2.5 are considered fine particles, they have a diameter of 2.5 μm or less. PM1 are considered ultrafine particles and have a diameter of 1 μm or less. According to World Health Organization, ambient particulate matter is considered as one of the leading risk factors for premature death globally and can cause serious respiratory and heart diseases; https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/ambient-(outdoor)-air-quality-and-health

Sizes of foot and mouth disease virus (FMD) and Hepatitis B are larger than 0.02um. Particle removal efficiency is tested according to standard GB/T6165:2008. Actual performance can be influenced by the environment it is used in; the filter does not guarantee 100% removal of particles.
